Learn how our Membership Housing™ program works, from application to placement.

Our Philosophy

At Harbor Halo, we believe in independent living with dignity, stability, and clear standards. Our fully furnished homes are designed for seniors seeking a safe, respectful environment where they can manage their own lives while enjoying predictable housing and professional oversight.

Through our Membership Housing™ program, we focus on creating quiet, stable homes that support independence while reducing the stress often associated with traditional rentals. We partner with trusted nonprofit and government agencies to help connect members to external resources when needed, without compromising autonomy or privacy.

Harbor Halo is not just housing — it is a structured living environment designed to help seniors feel secure, supported, and at home while maintaining their independence.

1. Meet Admission Requirements

  • Be 55+ (limited exceptions considered)

  • Be able to live independently

  • Have verifiable income

  • Provide valid photo ID

  • Agree to house rules and no-guest policy

  • Complete application and background review

2. Apply Online

Fill out our online application, and one of our intake specialists will contact you to begin the process.

3. Intake Interview & Orientation

After submitting your application, you'll have a phone or video interview with a specialist. Once approved, you'll pay the first month’s rent and community fee.

4. Move In!

After completing the process, you'll receive a warm welcome and a tour of your new home.

Cost & Payment Options

Membership costs include:

  • Monthly housing fee (varies by home)

  • Furnished private room

  • All rooms are private; bathroom setup varies by home.

  • Utilities included

Payment options:

  • Monthly, bi-weekly, or weekly (by arrangement)

  • Electronic payment required

Fees and availability vary by location.

Member Application

Identification will be required for housing approval. Applicants referred by partner agencies may be verified through HMIS; otherwise a valid photo ID must be provided before approval.

We use the last 4 digits to match your identity. Your full SSN will be collected securely during the background check process. Please do not email or text your full SSN.

A copy of your Social Security card or official documentation showing your full SSN must be uploaded in the “Submit Documents” section. We cannot complete your approval without verified SSN documentation.

Harbor Halo provides private rooms in shared homes for independent adults. Members must maintain cleanliness in their rooms and shared spaces, respect quiet hours, and respect other members’ privacy.


Harbor Halo homes are designed for individuals seeking a quiet and stable living environment, and are not a good fit for individuals who prefer loud music,late-night gaming, or other entertainment that disturbs other members.

11. Harbor Halo maintains a strict NO GUEST POLICY. Do you understand and agree to follow this rule? Applicants must agree to Harbor Halo’s community policies in order to be considered for housing.

Harbor Halo Membership Housing™ is designed for independent individuals seeking a quiet, stable living environment. To maintain safety, privacy, and comfort for all members, guests are not permitted in the home.

The only exception is an approved caseworker, caregiver, or authorized support professional.

This policy applies equally to all Harbor Halo members.

12. Harbor Halo homes are non-smoking inside the home. Smoking is only permitted outside in designated areas. Do you understand and agree to follow this policy?

Harbor Halo provides housing for individual members only. Each applicant must complete their own application.


Harbor Halo homes are designed for independent adults. Residents must be able to live independently without daily medical care or supervision.

Harbor Halo is not a rental assistance program and does not use an income-based or sliding fee scale. Members must have stable income to cover the monthly housing fee. Proof of income will be required during the approval process.

  1. If you are self-paying for housing, please provide your employer’s information for income and stability verification. Please Note: You will need to provide us with proof of income- check stubs, redacted bank statement, etc and we will verify your employment. You must have a stable income to qualify for our housing.

Harbor Halo has a No Pets Policy.


If you selected ESA or Service Animal, documentation will be required.

Emotional Support Animal requests must include documentation from a licensed healthcare professional and must be reviewed and approved before housing approval is granted.


Any approved animal must be properly controlled and may not disrupt the safety, health, or peaceful enjoyment of other residents living in the home. The applicant is responsible for any damage caused by their animal.

If you are not referred, you will be required to complete your $25 non-refundable application screening fee.

  • Rooms are NOT held under any circumstances without payment or confirmed agency placement.

  • Rooms are assigned on a first come, first pay basis.
